The city of Bilbao is called by its inhabitants Botxo (hole), and it's not hard to see why. If you look around you will easily realize that Bilbao is located in a valley completely surrounded by mountains. In order to better understand its configuration, and enjoy the unique landscape of Botxo, you have to climb high up on Mount Artxanda. The Funicular of Artxanda offers the opportunity to leave the city and to enjoy total relaxation of a stunning view of Bilbao from a mirador located on Mount Arxanda, 250 meters high. The rooftop terrace allows you to observe from the characteristic appearance of the city of Bilbao, its particular mix between the green of the surrounding mountains with skyscrapers, the pinnacles of its Gothic churches with ultramodern profiles of the Guggenheim, the Calatrava bridge and the Ponte de la Salve.
