Mercado Central de Valencia

In front of the magnificent building of the Lonja is a steel structure with stained-glass windows and hand-painted ceramics in the facade: the main market, with its 959 stalls of fresh produce. An interweaving of colors, smells and flavors in a modernist jewel. The market is divided into two parts: on the one hand fruit and vegetables, from the Valencian huerta (agricultural land area south of Valencia); the other a feast of meats, among which excel the Salamanca ham, and fish, with benches that offer real 'waterfall' of shellfish.
